Using field data from five typical types of vegetation in the discontinuous permafrost zone in northern Quebec, Canada, we estimated how much groundwater recharge occurred under these different types of vegetation: tundra/permafrost mound, lichens and herbs, lichens and low shrubs, medium shrubs, and trees.
